Rep. Mike Tobash announced Tuesday that two improvement projects in the 125th Legislative District will benefit from nearly $957,000 in state funding approved by PennDOT.
According to Skook News, Hegins Township received a $479,098 grant to replace Forest Drive bridge, an existing one-lane bridge that spans Deep Creek.
Washington Township received a $477,602 grant to replace the deteriorating bridge along Kutz Road, north of its intersection with Sweet Arrow Lake Road.
The funding will also remove the existing 29-ton load posting.
Tobash advocated for the funding to help tackle the area’s backlog of needed bridge repairs.
