A train derailed in Tremont Tuesday afternoon.
According to Skook News, the incident occurred about 1:30 p.m. on North Crescent Street, involving a Reading, Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad Co. train.
One of the cars was off the tracks while two other cars moved away from the tracks but did not derail.
Tremont Police Chief Michael Conway said the engineer stopped the train immediately.
The locomotive is blocking a portion of Pine Street which will remain closed until railroad authorities determine the best way to get the derailed car back onto the tracks.
The investigation into the derailment will be conducted by RBM&N police.
