Thanksgiving baskets were distributed as part of the holiday assistance program by the Salvation Army.
The program provides food and gifts to those in need.
In all, 180 families received a basket from the Salvation Army, which included a turkey with all the trimmings.
Along with the Thanksgiving basket, there is a Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Salvation Army, located at 400 Sanderson St., in Pottsville.
Although no one will be turned away Thursday, you can register by calling 570-622-5252 today or Wednesday during business hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The program also provides a Christmas food basket and toys provided by the Toys for Tots drive and other donations.
