Injuries suffered by a Mahanoy City man, who was found lying in the middle of a borough street, were determined to be associated with an accidental fall, not the result of any criminal activity.
According to the Republican Herald, Mahanoy City police Patrolman Thomas Rentschler was called to the scene, late Friday, for a person down and found 60 year old Joseph Polusky lying on B Street, between Maple and Spruce streets, unresponsive and severely bleeding from his head. He was flown to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville for treatment.
State police from the Schuylkill and Frackville stations along with a state police Forensic Services Unit assisted in the investigation in the event a crime had been committed, but ruled that the injuries were the result of an accidental fall.
