Authorities continue to investigate the incident and events that led up to an altercation between two men, which resulted in the gunshot death of one of them.
Police have termed the incident, a death investigation that took place in the McAdoo Heights section of Kline Township, Tuesday morning.
According to a news release, state police were dispatched to 35 James St. for a shooting at 9:25 a.m. A preliminary investigation showed a gun was discharged during an altercation between 29 year old Eric Mumaw and 27 year old David Gombert, of Hazle Township.
Gombert was pronounced dead at the scene by the Schuylkill County Coroners’ Office while Mumaw sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Troopers have not charged Mumaw with any crime yet and are asking anyone who may have witnessed something or who has relevant information to contact them at 570-874-5300.
