A Roman Catholic priest who lives in Pottsville is headed to Lehigh County Court after waiving his right to a preliminary hearing Monday on charges he had improper contact with a teenage girl in 2017 and this year in Allentown.
Lehigh County detectives allege that 30 year old Rev. Kevin M. Lonergan had indecent contact with a 17-year-old girl he first met in August 2017. He electronically communicated with her in December 2017 and January, and on Feb. 1.
Magisterial District Judge Patricia M. Engler allowed Lonergan to remain free on $50,000 unsecured bail pending further court proceedings, scheduled for Dec. 20 in Allentown.
