The Associated Press has declared Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf and Democrat U.S. Sen. Bob Casey victors in Tuesday’s general election.
There was no opposition on the ballot for Schuylkill County’s legislative delegation to the state General Assembly. Incumbent state Reps. Neal P. Goodman, Jerry Knowles and Mike Tobash, all ran unopposed.
Republican Luzerne County businessman Dan Meuser won a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, triumphing in the newly redrawn 9th Congressional District over Democratic Columbia County dairy farmer Denny Wolff.
The 9th District includes Schuylkill, Lebanon, Berks, Carbon, Columbia and Montour counties as well as parts of Luzerne and Northumberland counties.
