Judge awards McQueary $$$...

Penn State has been ordered to pay former assistant football coach Mike McQueary even more money after a judge's ruling Wednesday afternoon.

Judge Thomas Gavin ruled in favor of McQueary's whistleblower claim and awarded the former coach nearly $5 million in damages. That includes $3,974,048 for past and future lost wages. The judge added an additional $1 million in non-economic losses because he felt the amount the jury awarded McQueary was insufficient. That brings the total amount Penn State must now pay McQueary to $12 million.

McQueary sued the school for how he lost his job and how he was treated when he reported seeing a boy get raped by Jerry Sandusky who was found guilty in 2012 on 45 counts of sexual abuse involving young boys.

Last month, a jury awarded McQueary $7 million in damages in his defamation and misrepresentation lawsuit against the university.
