Fire Chief Todd March was recognized for his 42 years of dedication to the city Monday during the city council meeting.
He was sworn in as fire chief Dec. 15, 1975 and is the longest serving fire chief in the city of Pottsville’s history.
March is retiring at the end of the year, and according to the Republican Herald, the city council has not yet voted on his replacement.
The Pottsville Board of Fire Trustees makes a recommendation that is then given to the city council.
