A building in Pottsville was damaged by fire Wednesday afternoon.
Around 3:00pm, fire crews were called to the area of 6th and Arch Street for a working structure fire.
The building was reported to have been abandoned for years and was labeled as a "Do not Enter" building by fire personnel due to its condition.
Pottsville Fire Chief Todd March said the fire at 528 W. Arch St. appears to have started in the garage, adding that the door to the garage was open when firefighters arrived and there was no electricity to the building, which is condemned and on the city’s blight list.
The fire is being considered suspicious.
A State Police Fire Marshal has been called in and is investigating the cause.
