Along with widespread power outages Sunday and Monday, high winds also caused damage in areas of Schuylkill County.
According to the Republican Herald, the Tremont Little League baseball field sustained damage when a light pole was blown over and crashed through the roof of the visitors’ grandstand at the field.
An office building at 5 N. Second St., in Pottsville, also sustained damage when part of the roof blew off. Pottsville Fire Chief James E. Misstishin Sr. said it looked like the left side of the building on the second and third floor was pulling away and there is concern the way the building is leaning.
Misstishin estimated 75 percent of the roof was gone. He said a contractor will be at the site today to estimate damage.
