Attempted Murder charges...
A Schuylkill County jury decided Wednesday that 27 year old Rafael Valdez-Torres, of Hazleton, tried to murder a man when he shot him in October 2017 in Tamaqua.
According to the Republican Herald, Tamaqua police charged Valdez-Torres with shooting borough resident Joseph Becker around 2 a.m. Oct. 10, 2017, with a .40-caliber handgun in the backyard of a West Rowe Street residence.
President Judge William E. Baldwin, who presided over Valdez-Torres’ one-day trial, ordered him held without bail and scheduled the defendant’s sentencing for March 11.
