Stella clean up continues...

Schuyllkill County residents were still digging out from the storm Wednesday.

Tom Whitaker, Pottsville street department supervisor, said workers were clearing snow and moving it to the JFK pool parking lot from midnight Wednesday till 8 a.m. They would do so again from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. today.

Workers were out clearing the streets again Wednesday of any accumulated or drifting snow.

Whitaker said the streets were open and wet Tuesday evening but the blowing and drifting snow made the situation worse Wednesday.

Residents can help keep the roads clear by not shoveling snow or using a snow blower to put snow in the street.

The National Weather Service, State College reports that blowing and drifting snow is still possible as are winds gusting to 35 mph. Motorists are urged to use caution when driving.
