Schuylkill County’s Drug & Alcohol program has received hundreds of thousands of dollars in government funding to help fight the opioid crisis.
The grants are for $108,512 in state funds for establishing a nonnarcotic assisted treatment pilot program; $191,447 in additional federal funds to support efforts to decrease the opioid crisis; $47,288 to decrease the heroin/opioid crisis.
County Finance Director Paul E. Buber outlined the grants in a series of supplemental budget appropriation resolutions at a public meeting Wednesday.
