Crews were called to a house fire early Wednesday morning in Schuylkill County.
According to officials, flames broke out at a home in the 2000 block of Route 309 (West Penn Pike) in West Penn Township around 4:30 a.m.
Authorities at the scene said an unnamed man was able to escape the flames, but his dog died.
No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, as the investigation continues.
