A 33-year-old Ashland man who led police on a high-speed vehicle pursuit, Monday, was committed to Schuylkill County Prison on several charges.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said the pursuit of John Edwards began in Hegins Township and went through Tremont and Tower City boroughs.
Edwards eventually pulled over the 1998 Ford Windstar he was driving and attempted to flee through yards in Tower City before he was apprehended.
Police said Edwards had a felony warrant for a prior Megan’s Law violation and was operating a vehicle that he had not registered.
Police said he was also suspected to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He was incarcerated in lieu of $25,000 cash bail.
A passenger of Edwards’, Nicole Zipp, was also taken into custody. She was transferred to the custody of Dauphin County Probation for violating bail conditions.
