A preliminary hearing was held Thursday for 25 year old Magen Hall, who is charged in the killing of Patrick Murphy.
According to the Republican Herald, prosecutors have yet to present Hall’s case to a grand jury, but Commissioner Jonathan Friedman, who presided over Thursday’s hearing, held fast to his earlier decision that there was probable cause to arrest Hall for second-degree murder.
Defense lawyer John Fuller separately asked for a reduction of Hall’s $750,000 bail, but Friedman said that would have to come after a written request was submitted by the defense.
Afterward, Fuller said it was unlikely that he would make such a request. He declined to comment when asked if his client would argue self-defense.
