One person was killed when flames tore through a home Tuesday night at 72 Main St. in Upper Mahantongo Township.
According to the Republican Herald, Klingerstown Fire Chief Robert Masser said crews were called at 8 p.m. and found the single home fully engulfed in flames when they arrived. He said crews were able to knock the fire down in about 45 minutes and keep the flames from spreading to surrounding structures.
State police at the scene said one person died in the fire and that fire marshal Trooper Joseph Hall of the Frackville station was called to investigate.
Firefighters from Schuylkill, Dauphin and Northumberland counties responded to the scene.
The name of the victim has not yet been released as the investigation continues.
