Police have released details regarding Thursday afternoon's collision along Route 54 in Barnesville.
According to Rush Township police, responders were dispatched to Pine Creek Drive and Church Road about 3 p.m. for a report of a car crash with injuries.
Police said 66 year old Dennis Laul, of Hometown was traveling east on Pine Creek Dr. when his vehicle drove over the double yellow and traveled off the road hitting a tree head on. Laul told police he blacked out.
He was airlifted to a local trauma center for treatment.
Meanwhile, a passenger, 66 year old Valerie Laul, of Hometown, also was injured and transported to a local hospital.
Police said neither was wearing a seatbelt.
