John Matz, coordinator of the Schuylkill County Emergency Management Office, said that despite some incidents of standing water on roadways and flooded basements, Monday’s severe storm did minimal damage, in Schuylkill County.
According to the Republican Herald, Porter Township, Tremont, Pine Grove and Port Carbon activated their emergency operation plans and emergency operations centers but decided to shut them down after the storms moved through around 2 a.m. Monday.
Matz said officials in northern Columbia County area investigating the possible of a tornado that may have touched down but no such reports were received in Schuylkill County.
