State police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred Saturday evening at the Gasway gas station in New Castle Township, near Saint Clair, Schuylkill County.
Authorities said the suspect got into an altercation with the gas station attendant, striking him in the hands and arms with a pellet gun.
According to state police, the victim fought back, and chased the suspect with a baseball bat. The suspect then threw a knife at the attendant and then fled the gas station without any cash or items.
According to state police, the suspect remains at large. They describe the suspect as a white man, approximately in his late teens to early twenties, standing 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black hoodie, tan khaki pants, a black cap with a flat brim, sneakers and sunglasses.
The attendant suffered minor abrasions on his hands and arms.
