Commissioners file claim...

The county commissioners are making sure the owner of an eyesore pay overdue taxes.

According to the Republican Herald, commissioners voted to file a municipal claim lien against Seven Hills Hospitality Inc., the owner of the former Days Inn along Route 61 in North Manheim Township.

The hotel was destroyed by a fire on March 15 after being vacant for several years.

The county is seeking $47,500 in hotel taxes from March 1, 2007, to March 1, 2019, estimating the amount from what was paid in prior years.

The fire has been ruled an arson, and the site is currently for sale.
