The emergency room at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill S. Jackson Street will close at 8 a.m. May 1.
According to the Republican Herald, the closure is part of the campus integration plan introduced in 2016 and meant to eliminate redundancies in services between the South Jackson Street site and the East Norwegian Street location.
A new $8 million emergency room opened in November 2016 at the East Norwegian Street site, featuring 21 treatments rooms among other amenities.
All ER services by LVH-Schuylkill will occur at the East Norwegian Street site beginning May 1.
