Police are investigating a 2 vehicle fatal crash that occurred Monday afternoon, in Schuylkill County.
According to State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred around 1:30pm on the Burma Road approximately 1 mile from the Brockton Mountain Drive intersection when 54 year old Paul Winans, of Mahanoy City, was attempting to pass a pickup truck driven by 54 year old Mary F. Clickner, also of Mahanoy City.
As Winans began to pass the 2003 Dodge Dakota, he sideswiped the vehicle causing him to lose control and go off of the roadway, striking a tree.
Winans was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene by Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner Dave Truskowsky. Both Clickner and her passenger were not injured in the crash.
The State Police Troop L Accident Reconstruction and Record and Identification members were called to assist in the crash investigation.
