71 year old Dale C. Schimpf, of Frackville, who has served as a band director at several Schuylkill County schools, remains in prison on sex-related charges in spite of a judge reducing his bail Monday.
According to the Republican Herald, Schimpf faces multiple charges after making contact on an internet dating app, and then engaging in sexual acts with a 13-year-old boy.
Judge Jacqueline L. Russell reduced his bail to $100,000 percentage, meaning he will have to post $10,000 to go free pending his preliminary hearing, scheduled for April 23, before Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer, Tamaqua.
A spokeswoman for the Schuylkill County Prison said Monday night that Schimpf still was behind bars.
