Drivers can expect more delays while traveling on Interstate 81, in Schuylkill County.
Starting today, Interstate 81 north will be reduced to a single lane through 6:00 AM on Friday, and is anticipated to be reduced to a single lane from 6:00 AM on Mondays through 6:00 AM on Fridays for the duration of the project.
Then beginning May 30 through the end of the project, I-81 south will also be reduced to a single lane from 6:00 PM on Mondays through 6:00 AM on Fridays.
This is part of the ongoing Interstate 81 Paving Project. The project also includes milling and paving the interchange ramps at Exit 124 (PA 61).
Updates will be provided whenever traffic patterns change.
H&K Group, Inc. is the general contractor on the $10,993,381 project.
Work is expected to be complete in July 2018.
