The identity has not yet been released of a Gilberton man who died from a stab wound to the chest, over the weekend but it has been ruled that the wound was self-inflicted.
State police at Frackville were called to investigate what was originally being called a suspicious death, but Trooper Manuel Cabrera said Sunday evening that there was a witness present when the incident occurred and no further investigation will be conducted.
A virtual autopsy was conducted Saturday afternoon at the Simon Kramer Cancer Institute, New Philadelphia.
Schuylkill County Coroner Dr. David J. Moylan III said, “It was a self-inflicted knife wound to the chest, adding that it has been ruled a suicide.”
