The preliminary hearing for one of the three people, who face charges in the death of 23 year old Alexandria Sienkiewicz, of Tamaqua, was continued Wednesday.
Magisterial District Judge Christina E. Hale, Frackville, told Kyle Jacob Merenda, of Barnesville, he needs to secure an attorney and will not receive another continuance.
Merenda said he paid an attorney who wanted more money than initially paid to take his case.
24 year old Melanie Kropp, of Mahanoy City, and 33 year old Jonathan Seekins, of Coaldale, have also been charged in the death of Sienkiewicz, who died from acute fentanyl toxicity April 2, 2016.
The Schuylkill County coroner’s office ruled the death a homicide.
Merenda’s preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. May 24 in Hale’s courtroom.
