Building owner will be back in court...

James J. Curran Jr., the owner of the Schuylkill Trust Building in Pottsville is scheduled to return to the court of Magisterial District Judge James K. Reiley, expected to present an engineering report to address the state of the building at 101 N. Centre St.

According to the Republican Herald, the city’s code enforcement office had cited Curran on Sept. 25, 2015, for failing to address sections of the building’s exterior that are reportedly crumbling.

On March 31, Curran and his attorney appeared before Reiley, at which time the judge continued the trial to allow Curran to have time to finish study an engineering study, conducted by Michael A. Beach & Associates Consulting Structural Engineering, of Mount Laurel, New Jersey.

Curran is scheduled to address the state of the building before Reiley on May 26th.
