A Tremont man, charged earlier this month with having illegal drugs and a homemade explosive device inside his home, appeared for a preliminary hearing Thursday morning.
According to the Republican Herald, the charges against 25 year old Tyler James Haas stem from an incident on May 7 when authorities executed a search warrant at his home.
Prosecutors withdrew the felony weapons of mass destruction charge and Haas waived the remaining offenses to Schuylkill County Court.
After the hearing, Haas was returned to Schuylkill County Prison where he is being held on both $25,000 straight cash bail set by Rossi at the time of his arraignment and also on a detainer from the Schuylkill County Adult Probation Office.
At the county court level, Haas can now enter a not guilty plea and seek a trial, or plead guilty.
