The grand opening of Fighter’s Heaven to benefit Avenues will take place later this week.
According to the Republican Herald, the event will be two-fold; it’s not only a fundraiser for this worthwhile charity, but it commemorates a three-year long project for Mike Madden, owner of the one-time venue for the late great boxing champion Muhammad Ali, where he trained for a majority of his big bouts starting in 1971.
Madden’s takeover of the property on Sculps Hill, Orwigsburg, commonly referred to as The Muhammad Ali Training Camp in Deer Lake has rejuvenated and renovated this historical site.
The grand opening celebration is open to the public, Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
