A fast-moving fire destroyed a garage and spread to a nearby home in Brandonville, East Union Township, early Sunday morning.
According to the Republican Herald, firefighters were called to 40 Main Blvd. about 5:15 a.m. for a report of a garage fire and found the building fully engulfed in flames.
Fire Chief Kyle Mummey said crews battled the fire for about an hour before bringing it under control, but not before it spread to the unoccupied home a short distance away.
Mummey said no injuries were reported.
State police fire marshal Trooper Joseph Hall of the Schuylkill Haven station arrived on scene to assist in trying to determine what sparked the fire, but the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
