The 26th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is set for Saturday. Each year, the National Association of Letter Carriers collect nonperishable food to distribute to food banks.
The event is supported by the United States Postal Service, the National Rural Letter Carriers Association and the United Way.
The national effort is organized locally so that all food is given out in the county it is collected in.
Nonperishable food such as pasta, cereal and rice along with canned goods will be accepted.
Last year, 29,270 pounds were collected in Schuylkill County while 75 million were collected across the country.
