Walmart ups tobacco age...

On Wednesday, Walmart announced it will be raising the purchase age to purchase tobacco products.

According to Skook News, John Scudder, U.S. Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer for Walmart Inc., said, “There’s been a lot of discussion about how companies restrict the sales of tobacco to minors. Recently, a letter was received from the Food and Drug Administration about the policies Walmart has in place to prevent the sale of tobacco and electronic nicotine delivery systems to anyone under age.”

So Walmart will be taking additional measures to keep tobacco out of the hands of minors.

The change will take place on July 1st, 2019 and will raise the purchase age to 21.
