The Schuylkill Transportation System (STS) announces that it will join with other public transportation systems nationwide to participate in the eleventh annual National Dump the Pump Day.
Sponsored by the American Public Transportation Association, the 2016 National Dump the Pump Day is a day that encourages people to ride public transportation, instead of driving a car.
This year’s slogan is “Dump the Pump. Ride Public Transit.”
All passengers will have the opportunity to ride any fixed route vehicle for FREE that day.
In 2015, Americans took 10.6 billion trips on public transportation, the third highest in 10 years.
The annual Dump the Pump day will take place on Thursday, June 16.
