Pottsville Police Chief Richard F. Wojciechowsky is alerting motorists to traffic pattern changes in a section of the city next week.
According to the Republican Herald, PPL Electric Utilities will begin a major upgrade project in the 100 block of state Route 209, West Market Street, beginning at 7 a.m. Monday.
The project requires PPL to have the 100 block of West Market Street closed to all vehicle traffic from 7 a.m. that day through the early evening of June 22, due to safety concerns associated with the project activity in the lanes of travel.
Pedestrian traffic will be allowed on the sidewalks and emergency vehicles will have access to the block from the Second Street area.
Detours will be put in place for all other motorists.
