Jesse Olivieri had a court hearing Monday in Washington, D.C., and was ordered into the custody of the U.S. Marshals for the May 20 incident at the White House.
Olivieri was shot by a U.S. Secret Service Officer outside the White House while carrying a handgun after he refused to stop after being ordered to do so after entering a security gate near the southwest grounds of the White House.
He is a 2003 graduate of North Schuylkill High School. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia charged Olivieri with resisting or impeding certain officers or employees with a dangerous weapon, which is a federal offense.
The charge carries a statutory maximum of 20 years in prison. No additional court date has been scheduled at this time, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Olivieri made his first court appearance relating to the May 20 incident earlier this month.
