Pine Grove area fire companies and road crews were out Thursday, pumping water and clearing the roadways and drains of mud and debris after nearly 7 inches of rain fell Thursday morning causing flooding throughout Schuylkill County.
According to the Republican Herald, there was flooding reported in various areas, the most significant was in the area of Pine Grove borough and Pine Grove and Washington townships along with Auburn borough and South and North Manheim townships.
Earlier this month, it was announced Pine Grove would receive nearly $6 million from the Department of Community and Economic Development and the Department of Environmental Protection for the development of a floodplain restoration area.
