The secretary of Pennsylvania’s Department of Community & Economic Development, 53 year old Dennis M. Davin began a whirlwind tour of Schuylkill County, Thursday, by visiting Orwigsburg and meeting with members of the Schuylkill County Chamber of Commerce.
He spoke about some of the different programs DCED has, what it looks for in considering funding for efforts and the role of DCED.
Davin, a state Cabinet member, also visited Pottsville and Tamaqua Thursday to get a feel for challenges facing the community and to better understand elements of success helping to revitalize the town.
