Schuylkill County jurors were unable to decide, Tuesday, whether Arthur J. Johns was guilty of assaulting two nurses in 2017 at a hospital in Pottsville.
According to the Republican Herald, Pottsville police had charged Johns with assaulting Amy Blankenhorn and Alyssa Wagner on Feb. 6, 2017, in the emergency room at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill S. Jackson Street in the city.
The jury of seven men and five women could not reach a verdict on two counts of aggravated assault, leaving Judge Charles M. Miller, who presided over Johns’ one-day trial, no choice but to declare a mistrial.
Johns was then returned to prison in lieu of bail in this and other cases.
