Police in Schuylkill County are warning residents of a new phone scam.
Residents in Mahanoy City and surrounding communities have been receiving phone calls from a man calling himself Jason Rodriguez and stating he is from PPL.
The man tells residents that if they do not provide him with a check number, the power will be shut off to their residence in 45 minutes.
Anyone receiving calls should contact your local police.
