by News Department on 07/15/15Work began on July 7th to transform the former Fessler USA building, located at 216 W. Independence St. in Orwigsburg, into a 20 apartment housing unit and the Orwigsburg Area Free Public Library.
The project is expected to take a year to complete on the building that has sat vacant since 2009.
The apartments are for those 62 years old and older and income criteria applies. Applications are currently being accepted.
Thus far, about 15 applications have been submitted.
