State police at Lehighton continue to search for the suspect in an attempted robbery Saturday morning in Penn Forest Township.
Trooper Shaun Flynn said a male wearing a navy blue hooded jacket, blue jeans, dark shoes and black gloves entered the Jim Thorpe National Bank on Route 903 carrying a black umbrella around 10:15 a.m., but as the suspect tried to get in the second set of doors, the metal detector alarm was activated.
Police said the man then fled north on foot toward a wooded area. Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call 610-681-1850.
