by News Department on 07/21/15In spite of a legal setback earlier this year, Saint Clair borough officials continue to oppose the proposed construction and demolition project along Burma Rood in Blythe Township, which has been on the drawing boards for more than a decade.
According to the Republican Herald, borough Secretary Roland J. Price Jr. said the borough council is still opposed to it.
However, David A. Ventresca, one of the principals in FKV LLC, the company that wants to develop the landfill in conjunction with the township, said the landfill will get built and the borough has nothing to fear from it.
FKV has proposed to construct the Blythe Recycling and Demolition Site landfill on 252 acres along Burma Road in the township. The proposed landfill will only accept construction and demolition waste and have a 1,500-ton daily volume limit.
County and state courts, and the state Environmental Hearing Board, have rejected several borough attempts to slow or stop the project.
Blythe officials support the landfill as a benefit to their township.
