52 year old Patrick Reighard, of Shenandoah, was jailed Thursday after being arrested by Shenandoah police for starting a fire in the borough.
Police Chief George Carado said Shenandoah firefighters were called to the 600 block of South Main Street, at 6:07 a.m., for the report of a brush fire and determined the fire was started in a pile of sticks and debris and also ignited pallets in the area.
According to authorities, Reighard was spotted in the area where the fire began and later admitted to igniting leaves and sticks, which in turn caught the pallets on fire.
Reighard was taken into custody and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, Shenandoah. He was committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $25,000 straight cash bail.
