Pottsville police said that due to the annual City Cycle 17 bike race on Saturday, several streets will be temporarily closed in Pottsville.
Beginning at 8 a.m., Laurel Boulevard will be closed from 12th to 16th streets until approximately 9:30 a.m. for the children’s events. Following the end of these races, Laurel Boulevard will be re-opened for westbound traffic to D.H.H. Lengel Middle School lower entrance.
Then, about 9 a.m., the following roadways will be closed until the conclusion of the race: York Farm Road between 16th Street and Maple Avenue; Eastwood Lane; Maple Avenue from York Farm Road to Fourth Street; Edgewood Road; Woodglen Road between Edgewood Road and Westwood Road; First Avenue between 18th Street and Providence Place; 18th Street between First Avenue and Elk Avenue; Elk Avenue between 16th and 18th streets; and 16th Street between Elk Avenue and Mount Hope Avenue.
All roadways will reopen immediately following the conclusion of the race, which is expected to be no later than 11:30 a.m.
