The rain wreaked havoc in areas of Schuylkill County on Wednesday.
According to the Republican Herald, roadways and basements flooded and trees came down and generally made travel difficult late Wednesday afternoon.
The Pottsville Fire Department responded to nine weather-related incidents between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.
All city fire companies were out responding to calls, which ranged from downed trees, pump details and fire alarm calls.
The National Weather Service, out of State College, said several inches of rain fell in the county between 4:30 and 7 p.m. The good news is the heat wave gripping the area has finally started to let up.
