A Schuylkill County man and woman were injured in a crash on Interstate 80 after the operator of the vehicle fell asleep while driving.
According to authorities, 79 year old Paul Hancher and 85 year old Irene Plaza, both of Frackville, were injured when Hatcher fell asleep while driving on Interstate 80 westbound in Butler Township, Luzerne County.
After Hancher fell asleep, the vehicle crashed and rolled multiple times. Both were taken to the hospital for their injuries.
Police said Hancher was cited for careless driving.
