A man whose unresponsive toddler was locked inside his vehicle in a shopping center parking lot for an “extended” time Sunday turned down help from two strangers who wanted to rescue the child.
According to the Republican Herald, 44 year old Azim Hosein allegedly refused assistance, after locking his keys in the vehicle, because he didn’t want to damage his car or get in trouble.
Police reports stated that the temperature at the time was 72 degrees when Hosein left the 4-year-old boy in the locked vehicle in Hazleton with the windows rolled up while he went shopping.
Hosein was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Ronald Swank, Wright Township, who set bail at 10 percent of $5,000.
Unable to immediately post bail, he was taken to county jail.
