Former Dunmore police Chief Patrick Reese was arraigned at a brief hearing Tuesday on charges he illegally accessed emails to gain information on a grand jury investigation into state Attorney General Kathleen Kane.
His attorney, William Fetterhoff, entered a not guilty plea on Reese’s behalf. Reese, who is a member of Kane’s security detail, is charged with indirect criminal contempt, an ungraded offense that carries a maximum sentence of six months in prison and a $1,000 fine.
Prosecutors said he illegally accessed emails stored on a secure server in the Office of Attorney General to obtain information about a grand jury’s investigation of the leak of information from a 2009 grand jury probe.
